Party asks SC to take notice of hybrid regime’s unconstitutional act; high treason case must be instituted against Imran Khan, Fawad Choudhry and Qasim Suri
Karachi, April 3 (PR): The Awami Workers Party (AWP) condemns in the strongest possible terms the arbitrary and entirely unconstitutional decision by Prime Minister Imran Khan to dissolve the National Assembly so as to avoid being voted out of office after the PTI government lost a majority in the lower house of parliament.
The AWP has always stood firmly in support of constitutional rule and parliamentary democracy. The party warns that Imran Khan’s intransigence in the face of the entirely constitutional vote of no-confidence process leaves Pakistan vulnerable to another prolonged period of unconstitutional rule, and, in the worst case scenario, martial law.
AWP President Yousuf Mustikhan, General Secretary Bakhshal Thalho, senior vice-president Akhtar Hussain have said that the current impasse is not simply a constitutional crisis. It reflects the complete failure of the Pakistani ruling class, headed by the military establishment, to create a stable political and economic order that resembles a functional democracy.
The PTI itself was thrust into power by the establishment and it is now clear that this was a disastrous experiment that has exacerbated Pakistan’s status as a rentier state of imperial powers, where religion is weaponized, natural resources pillaged relentlessly and the working masses deprived of their democratic right to rule.
“We appeal to the Supreme Court to immediately take notice of unconstitutional steps affecting lives of the people of Pakistan. We also urged the CJP to constitute full bench of the Supreme Court comprising all judges and decide the constitutionality of the issues.
AWP believes that IK has committed a high treason by trampling the constitution. Hence a high treason case must be initiated against Imran Khan, Fawad Choudhry and Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri under Article 6 of the Constitution.
The AWP once again calls on all genuinely democratic, progressive and secular political forces to close ranks and build a genuine alternative to Pakistan’s bourgeois politicians and the military establishment to whom all mainstream parties are beholden.

عوامی ورکرز پارٹی ہمیشہ آئین کی حکمرانی اور پارلیمانی جمہوریت کی حمایت میں مضبوطی سے کھڑی رہی ہے۔ پارٹی نے متنبہ کیا ہے کہ عدم اعتماد کے پورے آئینی عمل کے سامنے عمران خان کی ہٹ دھرمی پاکستان کو غیر آئینی حکمرانی کے ایک اور طویل دور، اور مارشل لاء کی جانب دھکیل دے گی ۔
عوامی ورکرز پارٹی کے صدر یوسف مستی خان، جنرل سیکرٹری بخشل تھلہو اور سینئر نائب صدر اختر حسین نے کہا ہے کہ موجودہ صورتحال محض آئینی بحران نہیں ہے۔ یہ پاکستان کے حکمران طبقے جس کے سرپرستی فوجی اسٹیبلشمنٹ کر رہی ہے، کی ایک مستحکم سیاسی اور معاشی نظام اور ایک فعال جمہوریت کو قائم کرنے میں مکمل ناکامی کی عکاسی کرتا ہے ۔
خود پی ٹی آئی کو اسٹیبلشمنٹ نے اقتدار میں لے آیا اور اب یہ واضح ہے کہ یہ ایک تباہ کن تجربہ تھا جس نے پاکستان کی حیثیت کو سامراجی طاقتوں کی باجگزار ریاست کے طور پر آگے بڑھا یا ہے، جہاں مذہب کو کھلے عام ہتھیار کے طور پر استعمال کیا جا رہا ہے، اور قدرتی وسائل کو بے دریغ لوٹاجا رہاہے اور محنت کش عوام کوان کے جمہوری حق حکمرانی سے محروم ہیں رکھا گیا ہے۔
ہم سپریم کورٹ سے اپیل کرتے ہیں کہ وہ اس غیر آئینی اقدام کا جوپاکستان کے تمام لوگوں کی زندگیوں کو متاثر کرنتا ہو، کا فوری طور پر نوٹس لے، اور چیف جسٹس خو چاہئے کہ وہ تمام ججوں پر مشتمل سپریم کورٹ کا فل بنچ تشکیل دے اور اس کی آئینی حیثیت کا فیصلہ کرے۔
عوامی ورکرز پارٹی یہ سمجھتی ہے کہ عمران خان نے آئین سے انحراف کرکے سنگین غداری کا ارتکاب کیا ہے لہذا س جرم میں ملوث عمران خان ، فواد چوہدری اور ڈپٹی اسپیکر قاسم سوری کے خلاف آئین کے آرٹیکل 6 کے تحت مقدمہ چلایا جائے۔
اے ڈبلیو پی ایک بار پھر تمام حقیقی جمہوری، ترقی پسند اور سیکولر سیاسی قوتوں سے اپیل کرتی ہے کہ وہ اپنی صف بندیاں کریں اور پاکستان کے بورژوا سیاست دانوں اور ملٹری اسٹیبلشمنٹ جن کے گرد تمام سیاسی پارٹیان گھومتی ہیں کے خلاف حقیقی متبادل کے طور پر بیانیہ پیش کریں ۔
